WWTB - Meeting about Global Eradication of TB

About us

Our mission is the global eradication of Tuberculosis through the identification of safe and effective treatment regimens of very short durations.

The work of WORLD WITHOUT TB (WWTB) is based on the skills and dedication of a number of diverse participants who believe in what the charities activity could deliver. In addition to our trustees, we work with a range of volunteers, fundraisers, and clinicians.

Our Trustees are:

Rafiq Rattansi – Trustee

Amina Jindani MD, FRCP – Scientific Advisor

"I have been conducting clinical TB trials since the 1960s when I coordinated the first East African/British Medical Research Council trial of short-course chemotherapy in Africa.

I attended University of London and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. My post-doctoral thesis was based on the early bactericidal activity of tuberculosis drugs on the rate of reduction of the bacterial load in the sputum. This method is now applied in the evaluation of new drugs for tuberculosis. In June 2003, I was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London.

Currently, I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George’s, University of London where I coordinate the International Consortium for Trials of Chemotherapeutic Agents in Tuberculosis, known as INTERTB."
